Men's Soccer still unbeaten after 2-0 victory
9/9/2012 12:00:00 AM | Men's Soccer
Brett Day scored in the 28th minute and Nick Rapisarda scored unassisted in the 86th minute as the host Tommies (3-0-1) topped Minnesota Morris (0-4-1) in Sunday's non-conference men's soccer play at UST's South Field.
Mitchell Wolff was in goal for the Tommies, who outshot the Cougars 22-7. Alex Bernhardt assisted on the first goal.
"We played well today with a good focus and executed against a very resilient opponent," said UST coach Jon Lowery. "To keep another shutout proved it was an effort centered on good defending. This is a very good springboard into our MIAC opener at St. Mary's on Wednesday when we face a very solid opponent who is also carrying good momentum."
St. Thomas starts MIAC play Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game at St. Mary's.
