W. Hockey season ends with 4-1 playoff loss

The Tommie women's hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision Thursday night at No. 10-ranked Concordia-Moorhead in the semifinal round of the MIAC playoffs.
St. Thomas (15-9-2) trailed 1-0 after one period but knotted the scored 1-1 on Morgan Olson's goal 5:42 into the second period.
But the Cobbers (15-4-5) took a 2-1 lead later in the second and never looked back. Breann Julius scored two in the third period, including a late empty-net goal.
The Cobbers will play in the final Saturday at Gustavus, a 1-0 overtime winner over No. 5-seed Bethel.
Concordia's Rebecca Hendrickson stopped 28 of 29 shots in goal.
