Women's Hockey gets 3-0 win over Pipers
2/24/2012 12:00:00 AM | Women's Hockey
Kaylee Keys scored two goals, including a short-handed tally late in period two, as the visiting Tommies (14-8-2 overall, 10-6-1 MIAC) scored a 3-0 win over the host Pipers (8-14-2, 4-12-1) Friday night in MIAC women's hockey play.
The teams play Saturday at 2 p.m. in Mendota Heights to close the regular season.
With a Saturday win, the Toms can lock up the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, and a win and a Cobber loss would let UST tie for second in the final standings, although they would lose the tie-breaker for playoff seeding.
Alise Riedel made nine saves to give UST its seventh shutout of the season.
Morgan Olson had a goal and an assist and Meghan Parker added two assists. UST outshot the Pipers 36-9.
