Volleyball closes 4-0 at Iowa event, now 23-1

The No. 7-ranked Tommie volleyball team has posted the best start in program history as it capped off a 4-0 weekend with two Saturday wins at the Wartburg Invitational.
Coach Thanh Pham's Tommies (23-1) topped Nebraska Wesleyan in four sets and Simpson in four sets. UST ran its season victory streak to 18. The Nebraska Wesleyan score was 25-21, 22-25, 26-24, 25-18, while the Simpson score was 25-20, 17-25, 25-20, 25-15.
Sophomore Kelly Foley was named MVP of the tournament and joined Paige Brimeyer on the all-tournament team. Foley hit .345 in four matches with 47 kills.
The Toms are home Wednesday to face St. Olaf.
