Jenna Savino gets MIAC soccer honor

St. Thomas forward Jenna Savino on Tuesday was named MIAC women's soccer Player of the Week. Savino (FR-Vadnais Heights/Hill-Murray) scored two goals and one assist in two clutch road wins last week.
She had the tying goal Wednesday in Moorhead as UST rallied to beat the Cobbers 2-1 and snap Concordia's 17-game conference unbeaten string.
Savino scored and assist and a goal Saturday in Northfield as UST blanked No. 22-ranked St. Olaf 2-0.
Savino has five goals in the Tommies' last six games, including three in UST's current four-game win streak.
