Softball sweeps Knights, reaches 31 wins

Alison Wright, Becky Eischens and Rachel Osdoba each had three hits on the day and Tommie pitchers allowed just one hit over two games as No. 6-ranked St. Thomas (31-3 overall, 15-1 MIAC) recorded a Saturday home MIAC softball sweep of Carleton (3-24, 2-14).
Junior RHP Marta Radcliffe struck out 13 of the 17 batters she faced on the day with no hits and no runs and two walks allowed in five total innings. Freshman Christy Gries allowed one hit and faced just 15 batters in five shutout innings in game two.
UST plays Tuesday at first-place Gustavus in a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
