Women's Soccer, 11-2-1, gets No. 24 national ranking

The St. Thomas women's soccer team moved into the Division III top 25 poll this week. Coach Sheila McGill's team, 11-2-1 is ranked 24th nationally in the poll produced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCCA).
UST was ranked as high as No. 11 last year in the final regular-season poll but hasn't previously been ranked throughout this season.
The Tommies are 9-0-1 over their last 10 games after a 2-2 start. They are 6-0-1 in conference play and 5-0 in games against Wisconsin state university teams.
Two other North Region teams are ranked -- Concordia at No. 7 and Wartburg at No. 13.
UST plays its last four conference games over the next 11 days starting with today's game at Gustavus.
St. Thomas is nationally or regionally ranked in seven of its eight fall sports. UST is nationally ranked in volleyball (10th), football (16th), women's golf (22nd), women's CC (21st), women's soccer (24th) and men's CC (33rd), and regionally ranked in men's soccer (eighth).
