Softball season ends with 4-0 loss to Oshkosh

The St. Thomas softball team saw its season end Sunday with a 4-0 loss to UW-Oshkosh in the NCAA regional tournament in Eau Claire, Wis. It was first shutout loss for the Tommies in 135 games and first to a Division III team since March 2004.
The Tommies (42-5) left seven on base, including the bases loaded in the second inning, UST outhit the Titans 6-4 but allowed two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Maria Bye allowed four hits and three earned runs in the loss. Bye surpassed 700 career strikeouts on the game.
Later on Sunday, UW-Eau Claire scored a 6-0 win over Oshkosh to win the regional title.
