Men's Hockey wins, takes second and No. 2 seed

The host Tommies (17-6-2 overall, 11-4-1 MIAC) received goals from seven different players and secured the No. 2 seed for the conference playoffs with Saturday night's 7-3 victory over St. Olaf in men's hockey play in Mendota Heights.
It's the Tommies' 24th top-two MIAC finish in 26 seasons. Tom Knutson assisted on all three first-period goals for UST, which never trailed.
The Toms finished tied for second place with Bethel -- one point behind champion Hamline -- and wins the tie-breaker to host the Royals in the MIAC semifinal round March 1. The Pipers went 5-0-1 down the stretch and claimed their first MIAC championshop in 60 years.
