Volleyball tops Scots, now 8-0 in MIAC

Katie McCaffrey had 13 kills and hit .407 to lead No. 6-ranked St. Thomas to a three-set volleyball win over Macalester Friday night at the Scots' gym. UST hit .311 as a team in a 25-11, 25-22, 25-14 victory.
The Tommies (23-2 overall, 8-0 MIAC) have a half-game lead over second-place St. Ben's (8-1), and those teams play Wednesday in St. Joseph. Gustavus beat Concordia in five games on Friday night and those teams both have two MIAC losses.
St. Thomas is home Saturday to face Hamline (3 p.m.).
