The No. 6-ranked St. Thomas men's hockey team lost 3-0 Saturday night at Gustavus and fell into second place in the MIAC race. The Gusties avenged Friday night's 3-0 loss to UST.

It was UST's first shutout loss in 56 games and first shutout defeat in MIAC play in 77 games dating back to Feb. 2004.

Hamline scored a 4-1 win over St. Olaf to post a three-point weekend and now leads at 6-1-1 with 13 points. Bethel (6-3-1) has played two more games and also is at 13 points. St. Thomas (6-2, 12 points), Gustavus (6-4, 12 points) and St. John's (5-3-2, 12 points) are all tied for third on points, but UST has two fewer games that the Johnnies and Gusties.

St. Thomas plays two games at Concordia next weekend.
