Volleyball goes 4-0 to win Augsburg tourney

The St. Thomas volleyball team capped a 4-0 weekend (12-0 in games won) as it scored a 30-14, 30-24, 30-27 victory over UW-Eau Claire in the championship match of the eight-team Augsburg Invitational. Freshman setter Emily Foster and senior DS Aly McConnell made the all-tournament team.
Earlier Saturday, the Toms topped Northland (Wis.) , 30-15, 30-16, 30-24. Friday, UST scored 3-0 wins over Macalester (30-13, 30-13, 30-21), and UW-Stout (30-23, 30-24, 30-22).
The No. 11-ranked Toms (6-2) ran their winning streak to six. They play Wednesday at St. Olaf to start conference play.
Last weekend, the Toms played all four- and five-game matches in a 2-2 finish in the Emory (Ga.) tournament.
On the weekend, Kyley Crotty had 40 kills; Foster averaged 13.3 assists and 4.0 digs over 12 games; Katie McCaffrey had 33 kills, hit .431 and added 11 blocks; McConnell had 62 digs; Katie Kremer had 60 digs and four aces; Kristin Storrs had 36 kills; DeJurnett Prioleau had 18 kills and 12 blocks; and Molly Staton had five aces.
