Volleyball rolls 3-0, claims 14th win in row

Katie McCaffrey had 14 kills and three blocks as No. 6-ranked St. Thomas scored a 3-0 conference volleyball win Friday night at Gustavus. The Tommies' 30-27, 30-21, 30-19 victory left them as one of two unbeaten teams in the MIAC.
St. Thomas (14-2 overall, 4-0 MIAC) ran its winning streak to 14 and beat Gustavus for the 13th time in a row dating back to 1997.
The Tommies will try to cap a 15-0 record in September when they play Saturday at St. Catherine (3 p.m.).
The Gusties (11-3, 2-1) hit just .069 to UST's .220 and took their first conference defeat.
For UST, Kristin Storrs had 11 kills and hit .579; DeJurnett Prioleau had 10 kills and hit .429; Emily Foster had 43 assists; Aly McConnell had 29 digs; and Katie Kremer added 15 digs and two aces.
