T, 1-1
St. John's, September 12, 2007
Freshman Kyle Mader's goal in the 81st minute tied the game and the St. Thomas men's soccer team went on to post a two-overtime 1-1 tie at St. John's Wednesday. It was the MIAC opener for both teams.
St. John's (2-0-2 overall, 0-0-1 MIAC), last year's MIAC regular-season champion, scored the game's first goal in the 69th minute. Mader's tying goal was assisted by senior Max Weber.
Dan Hutton was in goal all 110 minutes for the Tommies (3-2-1, 0-0-1). UST had gome 260 minutes without scoring dating back to two shutout losses to nationally-ranked teams last weekend.
St. Thomas plays Saturday at Bethel (11 a.m.).
