The St. Thomas women's basketball team was outscored 20-4 at the foul line and saw its season end on the road Tuesday night in round one of the MIAC playoffs. Third-seed Carleton scored a 64-56 victory to end the Toms' season at 15-11.??

The Toms fell behind 8-0 and 14-3 in the opening moments. They shot just 25% in the first half and trailed 31-19 at the break. ??

The Toms used a 13-4 run to start the second half and cut the deficit to 35-32 with 14:00 to go, but Carleton answered with a 13-2 run to regain control.??

UST sophomore DeJurnett Prioleau had nine of her 11 points in the second half, and senior Melissa Gotchnik closed her career with 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes. Six different players had at least one 3-point basket for the Tommies, who shot 56% from the field in the second half, including 6-of-8 treys in the final 5:05. ??

Megan Milesunic had a game-high 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench to lead the Knights (19-7). Carleton, which played its trademark strong defense, was whistled for only eight fouls, two in the second half. UST committed 25 fouls, including 10 in the final 2:04 when it was trying to hang in the game.??

Carleton will play Thursday night in the semifinals at top-seed St. Benedict. Third-seed Concordia won at home Tuesday night vs. St. Catherine and will play Thursday at second-seen Gustavus.
