Men's Hockey gets sweep with 8-1 win

Rob Johnson, Nate Ryan and Ryan Hoehn each scored two goals as the host Tommies (9-1-1 overall, 4-0 MIAC) ran their men's hockey unbeaten streak to eight with a win over the Auggies (0-9-1, 0-6) Saturday night in Mendota Heights.
The seventh-ranked Toms, who outshot Augsburg 51-20, built a 4-0 lead and took a 4-1 lead into the final period. They capped off the weekend sweep with four goals scored in a 1:25 span midway through the third period.
Adam Davis and Alex Coles also had goals, and Nick Pernula and Andrew Panchenko each scored three assists. Tyler Chestnut stopped 18 of 19 shots in 51:17 in goal.
The Tommies, 7-0-1 in their last eight games, have allowed just three goals in their last four games. they are off until Jan. 5.
