12/1/2007 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Sophomore guard Joe Scott had 22 points and six rebounds to lead the visiting Tommie men's basketball team to Saturday's 73-59 road win at UW-LaCrosse.
The Tommies (5-1), who shot 56% from the field, won their fourth in a row -- all on the road over the last 12 days. UST also avenged 2005 and 2006 losses to the Eagles. The Toms used a 12-2 run to open the game and a later 13-2 run to build a 35-19 halftime lead. UST's lead didn't shrink under nine points in the second half.
On the game, they sank 6-of-9 from 3-point range and outrebounded LaCrosse 36-28. Lonnie Robinson added 11 points, five assists and four boards, and Teddy Archer had eight points off the bench. B.J. Viau had six points and six rebounds.
LaCrosse (4-1) recently scored a two-point road win at No. 5 Augustana, which just beat No. 1-ranked Washington (Mo.).
The Toms have another busy week with a home game Monday vs. Hamline (7:30 p.m.), a Wednesday night game vs. Macalester (at St. Catherine) and a game next Saturday at St. Olaf.
