11/17/2007 12:00:00 AM | Men's Hockey
Alex Coles' unassisted goal 1:14 into overtime gave the host Tommies a 6-5 win over Bethel in Saturday's MIAC men's hockey game in Mendota Heights.
Six different players had the goals for the Tommies (5-1 overall, 2-0 MIAC), who swept a weekend series and sit in first place with St. Olaf after the first weekend of conference play. UST has won 14 of its last 16 since last January and avenged an 0-3 slate vs. Bethel last season.
UST rallied from a 2-0 deficit after one period. The Toms scored three unanswered in second and two in the third to build a 5-3 lead. They appeared to have the game in hand with a 5-3 lead before the Royals erupted late. Bethel scored with 61 seconds left, and after pulling its goalie scored again with 25 seconds to go to tie.
The Toms are home to play No. 5 UW-Stout Tuesday night.
