Volleyball wins, closes 11-0 in MIAC

The 13th-ranked Tommie volleyball team capped off an 11-0 conference season with Saturday's 3-0 sweep at Augsburg. The Tommies won 30-22, 30-17, 30-19 to halt a four-match Auggie win streak.
Coach Thanh Pham's team (24-4 overall, 11-0 MIAC) won the conference race by three full games -- the largest margin since 1997. Concordia-Moorhead lost at St. Ben's on Saturday and those teams ahred second at 8-3. Including non-conference wins over Augsburg and Macalester, UST had 3-0 wins in 11 of 13 matches against MIAC foes, and 3-1 wins over St. Mary's and Concordia.
UST will be the top seed for the six-team playoffs and gets a first-round bye before hosting a semifinal match Thursday (7 p.m.).
Emily Foster had 34 assists and 14 digs; Katie McCaffrey had eight kills and six blocks; and Baylee Reagan had nine kills and five blocks; and Aly McConnell had 10 digs and three aces.
