McCaffrey shines in Volleyball win

Junior Katie McCaffrey continued her dominant play Wednesday night with 22 kills and 12 blocks while hitting .553 to lead 10th-ranked St. Thomas to a 3-1 volleyball win over host St. Mary's. The Tommies (20-3 overall, 7-0) remained unbeaten in the conference with a 32-34, 30-21, 30-22, 30-21 win.

Freshman setter Emily Foster added 54 assists and 14 digs; Katie Zazverskey added 10 kills, 18 digs, four blocks and three aces; Kristin Storrs had 14 kills and three blocks; Aly McConnell had 26 digs; and Katie Kremer had 12 digs.

The Toms reached 20 wins for the 21st time in 25 seasons.

UST travels to Dubuque, Iowa, this weekend for four matches in the Clarke College tournament.
