Mike Keating had 25 points and 14 rebounds and St. Thomas shot 57% from the field as it posted an 87-55 victory over Macalester in Saturday's MIAC men's basketball game on the Scots' floor.
The Tommies (17-2 overall, 13-1 MIAC), raced to a 13-0 lead and led 46-28 at halftime. They secured a spot in the MIAC playoffs for the 19th time in 20 seasons.
St. Thomas improved to 9-1 in January and remained tied for the conference lead with St. John's, a big home-court winner today over Gustavus.
Issac Rosefelt had 20 points and four assists and Bryan Schnettler had 15 points and five assists.
The Toms play four of their last six at home starting with Wednesday's 5:45 p.m. game vs. Carleton.
