Men's Hockey falls 4-3 in opener at Lake Forest

Freshman Kevin Rollwagen scored two goals in his Tommies debut but the St. Thomas men's hockey team dropped a 4-3, season-opening game Friday night at Lake Forest College.

The Foresters (2-0) scored the winning goal with just under six minutes to play. Dan Krmpotich scored a goal midway through the final period to tie the game 3-3.

St. Thomas junior goalie Zach Sikich stopped 41 shots as the hosts outshot the Tommies 45-26. Adam Cozine, John Bottoms and Skylar Kangas added assists for the Tommies.

St. Thomas will play at 3-0-1 St. Norbert Saturday (7 p.m.) in DePere, Wis. St. Norbert, which scored a 5-1 win over St. Mary's Friday, finished 27-1-2 and reached the national semifinals last season.
