Senior Tony Lawrence scored two goals and two assists as the St. Thomas men's hockey team (11-3) built a 3-0 lead and held on for a 4-2 non-conference win over visiting UW-Eau Claire (8-6-1) Friday night at the Fairgrounds Coliseum.
UST junior Bob Tallarico stopped 21 of 23 shots for the Tommies. The Blugolds pulled within 3-1 with under 5:00 to go then made it 3-2 with 1:25 to play. Lawrence's empty-net goal with :07 to go clinched the Tommie win.
UST hosts UW-Stevens Point Saturday (7 p.m.).
