Volleyball loses 3-0 at unbeaten Eau Claire

The St. Thomas volleyball team lost its first match of the season with a 3-0 decision to host Wisconsin-Eau Claire Wednesday night.

The Blugolds (3-0) won 30-20, 30-28 and 30-18. The Tommies (4-1) led 22-19 in the second game but couldn't hold it, then led 4-0 in the third game before UWEC took control.

The Tommies host a six-team tournament Friday and Saturday. They play Friday matches vs. Loras (3 p.m.) and Trinity (7 p.m.) and Saturday matches vs. Northwestern (11 a.m.) and Nebraska Wesleyan (5 p.m.).
