John Madigan graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1922. He played center for the football team and was a two-time letter winner. He was the captain of the football team in 1921. After graduating, Madigan played three NFL seasons with the Minneapolis Marines and the Duluth Kelleys.
