Jeff Keys graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1977. As a student, Keys was twice named All-MIAC (1975-76 and 1976-77) and was the 1977 Conference Hockey MVP. He was named NAIA All-American and NCAA Small College All-American in 1977 as well. Keys was the leading scorer in the MIAC in 1976 with 51 points and in 1977 with 56 points. His 186 career points rank fourth at St. Thomas and tenth in MIAC history.
