Doug Dietz graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1980. As a student, Dietz threw for 27 touchdown passes and ran for 15 touchdowns, breaking career records. He still ranks in the top 10 for passing and total offense at St. Thomas. Dietz was named to the All-MIAC team twice (1979 and 1980), and was named the MIAC MVP once. He was also a Division III NCAA All-American Honorable Mention in 1980.
