Zach Peterson

Zach Peterson joined St. Thomas Athletics in July 2026 as the Assistant Director of Equipment Operations.
Peterson comes to St. Thomas from the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he served as Equipment Manager. In that role, he oversaw equipment inventory, coordinated logistics, collaborated with coaches and administrators on daily team operations, and implemented organizational improvements to enhance efficiency. He also managed equipment needs on the road and gained experience working in a 10,000-seat arena while supporting game-day operations and emergency protocols.
Prior to joining the Musketeers, Peterson spent six years as the Head Student Equipment Manager at St. Thomas, playing an integral role in supporting the men's and women's hockey programs during the university's transition from NCAA Division III to Division I. He managed daily practice and game-day equipment operations, including locker room setup, laundry, uniform care, inventory management, skate sharpening, equipment repair, and ordering. Peterson also supervised student equipment staff and worked closely with coaches and student-athletes to ensure both programs were prepared throughout the season.
Peterson also served as a volunteer equipment assistant with the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL and began his equipment management career as a hockey student manager at Hill-Murray High School. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree at the University of St. Thomas.
