Mari O'Neill joined St. Thomas as Production Coordinator in January 2023 and was promoted to Associate Director of Live Video in August 2025.
O'Neill has played a pivotal role in several key accomplishments during her first year at St. Thomas, including the installation of new videoboards, streaming deals with Midco Sports and FOX 9+, and the establishment of Tommie Athletic Productions.
Prior to joining the Tommies, O'Neill served as Production Services Live Producer where she planned and managed in-arena and ESPN+ productions for home Montana State University football, basketball, volleyball, track & field, and rodeo events. Her responsibilities included everything from loading and testing sponsored content to organizing venue setups and training student and freelance crews to ensure seamless live productions. Notably, she has successfully negotiated and executed production contracts with key stakeholders, such as MSU Athletics and the Montana Broadcasters Association, ranging from $20,000 to $175,000.
Before her time in Montana, O'Neill served as the Communications Manager at the Alexandria Golf Club in Alexandria, Minn., where she revamped the club's website, managed social media platforms, and facilitated effective member communications.
Additionally, her experience as a Gameday Producer and Freelancer with Gopher Digital Productions in Minneapolis from 2016-21 provided her with hands-on experience in directing, technical directing, producing, and various other roles for in-venue shows and Big Ten Network broadcasts.
O'Neill earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Journalism with a minor in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. She also completed a professional certificate in Supervisory Management from Michigan State and is currently attaining an MBA from St. Thomas.
Mari and her husband Ryan live in Minneapolis.
