Kathy Hawks joined St. Thomas Athletics in August 2026 as the Associate Director of Academic Services for Athletics.
Prior to joining Tommie Athletics, Hawks served as an academic counselor at the University of St. Thomas, where she advised undergraduate international students on academic planning, degree requirements, registration, and university policies. She also mentored students in the Ciresi Walburn Leadership Fellows Program, led faculty advisor training for new student orientation, presented student success metrics to university leadership, and provided proactive academic support for at-risk students. Additionally, Hawks represented her department on the University Care Team and served on the international student scholarship committee.
Alongside her advising responsibilities, Hawks taught First Year Experience courses as an adjunct faculty member from 2020-23, helping new students transition successfully to college life.
Prior to joining St. Thomas, Hawks spent more than a decade at McNally Smith College of Music in a variety of leadership roles, including International Student and Program Advisor and Director of Domestic Admissions and International Recruitment.
Hawks earned a master's degree in comparative international development education from the University of Minnesota and holds a bachelor's degree in geography from St. Cloud State University. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Spanish linguistics at the University of St. Thomas.
