Joe Herrera joined the St. Thomas staff as the quality control specialist for defense in 2026. This will be his first season with the Tommies.
A graduate of St. Thomas, Herrera returns to his alma matter after spending the last three seasons at Cherry Creek High School in Colorado. During his time out west, Herrera served as Cherry Creek's Dean of Students and special teams coordinator. He also served as the offensive line coach at Columbine, Arapahoe, and Valor Christian high schools and coached tight ends at Adams State University. Outside of football, Herrera served as a strength and conditioning coach at Colorado School of Mines.?
