Dan Lemke joined the Tommies as the safeties coach in 2026. This will be his first season at St. Thomas.
Lemke joined the Tommies after serving as the defensive coordinator and defensive pass game coordinator at Prairie View A&M. In his three seasons with the Panthers, Lemke engineered a Top-10 national pass defense and helped secure the 2023 SWAC West Championship. He elevated defensive efficiency across several statistical categories and streamlined several processes for player development.
Prior to his time at Prairie A&M, Lemke served as the outside linebackers coach/defensive passing Game coordinator/recruiting Coordinator at Florida A&M. He also worked as the assistant head coach (defensive coordinator/ recruiting coordinator/ strength and conditioning coordinator) at Graceland University from 2017 to 2019.
Prior to Graceland, Lemke worked at various Division II institutions, including Northwestern Oklahoma State, Upper Iowa, and at Saint Joseph's College. He started his coaching career at St. Cloud State University, working with the Huskies secondary, outside linebackers and special teams unit. He earned his Masters of Science in Sports Management from SCSU in 2009.
A native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Lemke was a four-year safety at Western Michigan University. He also served as a volunteer member of the athletic department’s strength staff. He graduated in 2005 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.
