University of St. Thomas Athletics

Fueling Station
Tommie Athletics introduced a state-of-the-art fueling station to support its student-athletes' nutritional needs in November 2023. Located across from the weight room in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex (AARC), the station provides a variety of protein and carbohydrate-rich snacks to aid in muscle growth and recovery. This initiative marks another significant step in the University's ongoing transition to Division I.
Developed with input from sports dietitians Kaela Colvard and Lizzy Narigon, the fueling station offers convenient access to nutritious snacks, helping maintain energy levels and reduce stress among student-athletes. The facility also serves as an educational resource, teaching athletes about the importance of nutrition and how to make health-conscious decisions beyond their collegiate careers. Future plans include expanding the program with the addition of another fueling station in the upcoming Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
This project was made possible with the support of alumni Alice and Nick Halvorson, who are passionate about promoting health and well-being among student-athletes. Their contributions have been instrumental in creating a facility that not only aids athletic performance but also fosters long-term healthy habits.
