Summit League releases 2024 Cross Country Preseason Poll

Tommie women selected fifth, men sixth by league coaches
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The St. Thomas women's and men's cross country programs were selected to finish fifth and sixth, respectively, as the 2024 Summit League Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll was released.
The Tommie women received 23 points to finish ahead of Omaha, Kansas City and Oral Roberts. North Dakota State received the most points with 45 along with four first-place votes, followed by South Dakota State with 44 points and two first-place votes and South Dakota with 39 points and two first-place votes.
The Tommie men received 24 points to finish ahead of Kansas City. South Dakota State led all point-getters with 36 and four first-place votes, followed by North Dakota State with 35 points and one first-place vote. Oral Roberts in third and South Dakota in fifth were the other programs to claim first-place votes.
Seniors Molly Desotell and Ava Pankratz were named the Tommie women athletes to watch while juniors Sean McNiesh and Caden Nordberg were named the athletes to watch for the men.
The Tommie men begin their season Friday, Aug. 30 at the Oz Memorial hosted by the University of Minnesota while the women start on Friday, Sept. 6 at the Phoenix Open hosted by Green Bay.
