TODAY is the University of St. Thomas’ 8th annual Tommie Give Day

Today, on Tommie Give Day 2022, the entire St. Thomas community rallies to support funding that ensures access to a whole-person education for current and future Tommies. The University of St. Thomas Department of Intercollegiate athletics relies on this 24-hour fundraising campaign to support over 500 Tommie student-athletes on all 21 varsity teams.

"Our mantra – Proud Past, Bright Future – embodies the commitment we make each day to chase comprehensive excellence," stated Women's Basketball Head Coach Ruth Sinn. "The annual Tommie Give Day supports our athletic programs in providing our student-athletes the resources needed to develop and maximize their full potential holistically. It is through this athletic process of growth and challenges where student-athletes learn life lessons of self-discovery and how they can better serve our community as a whole. Thank you for investing in the future of our student-athletes as they embark on this wonderful journey."

In our second year competing at the Division I level, our Tommie student-athletes come to St. Paul from 31 different states and 12 countries. With their successes, we're capturing national attention and raising our institutional profile while attracting a more racially, geographically and socioeconomically diverse group of students to the university. They are the future leaders who will add value to our communities and will work to advance the common good throughout their careers.

The Tommie Athletic Fund is challenging all Tommie Fans, alumni, and supporters to continue or heighten their financial support of Tommie student-athletes through the 1904 Club. Funds raised on Tommie Give Day help support program needs across the spectrum through scholarship funding, academic support, top-notch medical and nutritional care, innovative facility improvements, leadership development opportunities and more.

"The commitment from our university and all involved to deliver a first-class student-athlete experience is crystal clear daily,' said Men's Soccer Head Coach Jon Lowery. "The deeper we build the layers of this support from all who believe in our mission will reap great results for our brave and bold student-athletes. The 1904 club is a place all Tommies supporters should consider as we're all in this together!"
