Tommie Athletics Unveils Expanded Visual Identity
5/13/2021 2:00:00 PM | Athletics
The University of St. Thomas Athletic Department is excited to reveal its expanded visual identity, another step forward in the transition to Division I. This expanded visual identity honors the rich tradition established by St. Thomas throughout its athletic history and paves the way forward with new elements unique to the Tommies.
The St. Thomas purple shield will remain the Tommies' primary logo, continuing the legacy of a proud past. Additional word marks, as well as a secondary logo and vintage Tommie mascot mark are introduced alongside a stripe element representing the iconic Kasota stone synonymous with the St. Thomas campus.
The expansion is a result of a creative process that involved athletics administration, coaches, and staff, as well as alumni and multiple campus partners. The project was a collaboration between athletics leadership and the university's Marketing, Insights, and Communications team.
The additional marks and expanded elements of the Tommie visual identity will create consistency across a number of platforms, including uniforms, gear, digital media, and printed materials. This consistency will enhance the St. Thomas Athletics brand as it continues to become more identifiable locally, regionally, and nationally.
