Jacob Gerhartz placed 13th in a field of 198 finishers to lead St. Thomas Men's Cross Country to a ninth place finish of 29 teams at the NCAA regional in Pella, Iowa.
Gerhartz clocked 25:43. Freshman Ephraim Bird (51st, 26:59), junior Trevor Smith (52nd, 27:00), senior Dylan Baumann (62nd, 27:14), freshman Parker Roseneau (76th, 27:36), freshman Sam Ivanecky (115th, 28:23) and freshman Allen-Michael Burback (121st, 28:29) rounded out the Tommies' lineup.
St. Olaf placed first of the 29 schools competing and host Central College took second. UST placed ninth with the top five Tommie runners averaging 26:57.0.
