Tom Diedrich graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1986. In 1986, Diedrich was the MVP for the St. Thomas hockey team. He ranks fifth on the St. Thomas All-Time Scoring list, and 13th on the MIAC list with 91 goals. He also held school records for hat tricks in a season (4) and career (9).
