Patrice Detlie Van Oort graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1989. As a student, Detlie Van Oort was named to the All-MIAC team all four of her seasons that she played softball, and was named to the All-Regional All-American Softball Team in 1989. She led St. Thomas soccer to their first MIAC title and their first NCAA Final Four trip (1987) adn was named to the NCAA Division III Final Four All-Tournament Team in Soccer (1987). Detlie Van Oort also broke the school career record for goalkeeper shutouts (31).
