Missy Pederson graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 2002. As a student, Pederson broke the NCAA Division III career free-throw percentage record (.8379). She was twice named to the Kodak All-American team, and was named the 2002 Women's Division III News Player of the Year. She was the first MIAC women's player to surpass 1,500 points, 300 assists, and 300 steals. She still holds the St. Thomas record for steals (338), 3-point shots (211), and free throw percentage (.8817). She also ranks third in points (1,557) and fourth in assists (315). Her teams won three MIAC titles and played in one NCAA Final Four in her era. Her Tommie teams built a 96-15 won-loss record (79-8 MIAC).
