Lee Bellfield graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1975. As a student, Bellfield was named All-American in both the 100 and the 220 races (1975) and was the three-time MIAC champion in the 100 and 220. He was the first St. Thomas athlete to be named Division III Track All-American, and held school records in the 50, 60, 100, and 220 yard dashes.
