Andregg was involved with St. Thomas athletics for more than 35 years until her retirement in June 2014. She was the first coach for the women's volleyball and tennis teams when St. Thomas began admitting female students in 1977. She went on to serve 35 years as an associate AD and Senior Women's Administrator. Tommie teams had more than 25 NCAA champion or NCAA runner-up finishes in her era as an associate AD. She was interim AD in 199-92. She also served as a mentor and role model to numerous student-athletes and was involved with athletics at the conference and national levels. She served as senior woman administrator for the MIAC, for which she served as vidce chair of the Executive Committee and a member of the Budget Committee. She served on the NCAA committee for Student-Athlete Reinstatement and Amteurism. She received St. Thomas' Sister Pat Kowalski Women's Leadership Award in 2006 and a Special Merit award at the 2008 Girls and Women in Sports Day at the Minnesota State Capitol. There's now an annual home swim-dive meet at St. Thomas named the JoAnn Andregg Invitational.
