Denny Monahan graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1957. He was a three-time All-MIAC player and a two-time Catholic All-American. He scored five touchdowns in one game as a running back, and helped the 1956 Tommies with the MIAC title, posting an 8-0 record. He was a captain and a four-year letter winner on the Tommie hockey team. He lettered all three seasons he participated in track and field.
