Ben Bautch graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1992 with a BA degree. During his time at the University, he was a two-time NCAA Division III champion in the 35 lb. weight throw (1990 and 1991). Bautch was the first St. Thomas indor track individual national champion, a six-time All-American, two-time MIAC track MVP, and won the MIAC indoor title in weight throw each of his four years at the University. As a thrower, Bautch held two school records.
