Abiola "Abi" Sasore joins the St. Thomas Athletic Training staff for his first year in 2022. Sasore will serve as the Certified Athletic Trainer for Men's Basketball and Cheer.

Sasore most recently gained invaluable experience at the elite level of sport as a summer intern with the San Francisco 49ers.

Prior to working with the 49ers, Sasore earned his master's degree from the University of Central Florida in 2022. As a member of the athletic training staff, he rotated with a variety of sports including football, track & field, volleyball and men's basketball in 2020, while spending the entire 2021-22 season with UCF Men's Basketball.

Sasore graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Science and Disability Skills, from Arkansas Tech University (ATU) in 2020. During his time at ATU he was deliberate in refining his leadership skills as orientation leader and serving two terms in Student Government Association as the International Senator and Secretary of Diversity and Inclusion while earning the Outstanding Senior Male award. Eager to grow and learn more in the rehab realm, Sasore gained valuable experience while working as Physical Therapy Aid at a local physical therapy clinic in his final year of undergrad.

Sasore was born in Nigeria and raised in Ireland where his passion for sport began playing soccer and basketball at a young age. Prior to moving to America, Sasore began his college journey pursuing his athletic endeavors at Dublin Institution of Technology, where he played basketball.
