Men’s Cross Country begins 2024 season Friday at Oz Memorial

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Thomas men's cross country program jumps right into action with its season-opening race Friday, August 30 at the Oz Memorial Run hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Tommie men will begin competition at 6 p.m. Friday from the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.

2023 Season Recap
St. Thomas kept its name among the best in the Summit League with four Tommies finishing among the top 17 at the Summit League Championships, one of three league programs to accomplish the feat in 2023. The foundation of the Tommies' fourth-place finish at the championship meet was junior Caden Nordberg and senior Charlie Caven who finished fourth and seventh, respectively, to earn All-Summit League First Team honors. Nordberg led the Tommies in four of their five meets this season and was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week following a 10th-place finish at the Joe Piane Invitational.
St. Thomas placed five student-athletes among top 22 to open season at Augustana Twilight (the most among participating teams) as the team finished second overall. The Tommies placed two runners among the top 62 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational (the first occurrence in the DI era) and placed fifth overall out of 16 teams at the Joe Piane Invitational with three runners among the top 16 (joining Notre Dame as the only programs to do so).
Up Next
The Tommie women start their season Friday, Sept. 6 at the Phoenix Open hosted by Green Bay. Both programs will return to the Les Bolstad Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 20 to run in the Roy Griak Invitational.
