Weeks earns second career Scholar of the Championship honor

Senior finished with highest cumulative grade-point average among league championship runners
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- For the second consecutive competition season, senior Tony Weeks was selected as the Summit League Scholar of the Championship as the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the 2024 Summit League Cross Country Championships.
Weeks previously earned the same award during the Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He is a two-time selection to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and was a member of the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
A native of Hudson, Wis., Weeks holds a 4.00 GPA as a mechanical engineering major.
The Summit League Scholar of the Championship is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at each of the Summit League's 19 championships. Each institution that is participating in a Summit League Championship is eligible to submit one nominee for the Scholar of the Championship award.
The 2024 Summit League Cross Country Championships begin Saturday at 11 a.m. with the women's 6,000-meter race followed by the men's 8K at 12 p.m. in Vermillion, S.D.
