Molly Desotell sharp again to lead Women's CC at Griak

Falcon Heights, Minn. -- Tommie Cross Country sophomore Molly Desotell had another strong race and recorded a top-90 finish Friday in a field of 228 runners to lead St. Thomas' efforts in the Division I women's race at the Roy Griak Invite at the University of Minnesota's Bolstad Golf Course.
Coach Ashley Lucas' team, which graduated two of its top three runners from last season, faced its toughest field of opponents and most difficult course of the season.
This year's Griak D-I women's race featured six nationally-ranked teams and five regionally-ranked squads. No. 19-ranked Utah was the team champion (85 points) and it edged No. 29 California Baptist (95). No. 23 Michigan State, No. 14 Colorado State and No. 25 Ohio State took th next three places.
Summit League favorite South Dakota State placed 11th, with St. Thomas taking 19th.
Desotell clocked 22:28 over 6,000 meters for 86th place -- a 25-second time drop from her 2021 time at Griak.
