St. Paul, Minn. – The University of St. Thomas is preparing for its annual Tommie Give Day which will be held on Nov. 15.
As we compete in Division I, one of our largest areas of needed investment is in scholarship support. Directly aligning with the overall priority for the broader University, our goal is to create a sustainable framework where your investment in scholarships can provide an outstanding collegiate experience for generations of Tommies.
"The annual Tommie Give Day is a commitment to an investment in the holistic student-athlete experience, one that will impact their lives long beyond their time at St. Thomas," stated Vice President, Director of Athletics Dr. Phil Esten. "The gifts given on Tommie Give Day will help us attract not only the top-notch student-athletes from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, the Midwest, but from all over the country and even internationally. Continuing to focus on building a diverse student-athlete body will only help us advance the common good," continued Esten.
The Tommie Athletic Fund works toward creating conditions to achieve comprehensive excellence for the University of St. Thomas athletics department and over 500 student-athletes.
This year, the Tommie Athletic Fund unveils new ways for alumni, families and supporters to be involved on the day with new team leaderboards, a number of giveaways, and the opportunity to create program-specific challenges and matches. Familiar Tommie Give Day elements such as a social advocate program, gift matches from the Board of Trustees, and Tommie Give Day incentives.
The Athletic Department has set a one-day goal of $1 million as a part of Tommie Give Day. All gifts given to the 1904 Club will help support operational excellence for all 21 programs.
