Women's Golf signs in-state duo from Class of 2023

St. Paul, Minn. -- Tommie Women's Golf coach Katie Hanneman has announced the signings of two Minnesota Class of 2023 players. Kathryn VanArragon of Blaine and Nicole Reineke of Chaska will join the St. Thomas team in fall 2023.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kathryn and Niki to St. Thomas," Hanneman said. "They will be great additions to our program, and will immediately impact our line up." VanArragon is a three-time Minnesota Golf Association Junior Girls Player of the Year (2019, 2020, 2022). She was Minnesota Women's State Open champion (2021), and three-time Low Amateur (2020, 2021, 2022). She also was Minnesota Women's State Amateur Champion (2019), and twice was Class AAA individual champ at the Minnesota State High School tournament (2018, 2022).

Action

Reineke tied for 13th in the Minnesota Class AAA state tournament as a junior in 2022. She also tied for 19th place in the Minnesota State Women's Amateur tourney, and tied for 10th in the 2022 MGA Junior Girls' Championship. Prior to her junior season in summer 2021, she won 2021 Players Tour events at Wild Marsh and another at North Oaks and Loggers Trail.

Action
The Purple had a 2021 fall stroke average of 333 in season one of D-I play. In four tournaments this fall, the Purple improved that to a 311 stroke average. St. Thomas has five competitions scheduled next spring, capped by the April 23-25 Summit League tournament in Lincoln, Neb.
